Our research interest center on the link between logic, semantics and
ontology, and we worked out some of the fundamentals of spatial
representation (which primitives are to be privileged? which
representational format?).

Part of our current research is funded by a NATO grant; we are working on a
book, provisionally entitled "Res Extensa", on the ontology of spatial entities.
Roberto participated in a ESF School in Spatial Representation in Barcelona
and in a GISData Specialist meeting in Napflion. He also cooperates with
Barry Smith on a long-term project on ontology for geography.

We are interested in how ontological knowledge can be impremented in real
life applications.
