In debates over immigration, economic anxieties loom large. One of the most common concerns is that an influx of workers born abroad will depress wages for native-born Americans.
But the opposite may be true, according to researchers Abigail Cooke, a UB assistant professor of geography.
The NCGIA was founded in 1988 as a National Science Foundation center for research in geographic information and its related technologies.
